Halloween is going to look a little different this year. With social distancing in place, we won’t have as many opportunities to walk around the neighborhood trick-or-treating. We won’t get to go to costume parties at work or with friends. BUT, that doesn’t mean you can’t still get dressed up!
If you’ve decided to participate in the holiday spirit last second, then this guide is for you. Below are our favorite Halloween costumes that are easy to put together – especially when you have a cute pair of earrings to match!
Pop Art Costume
Make yourself look like you’re straight from a comic strip by going for the pop art look! This one will require some body paint or makeup that can be used to create dots and bold lines.
Add a pair of our “wow” dangle earrings for the perfect pop art accessory.
Girl with Pearl Earring
Have you heard of this famous, classic painting? Dated 1665 and painted by Johannes Vermeer, it’s an iconic work of art that is somewhat easy to recreate in costume form!
Do you have blue and yellow scarves? How about a yellow dress? If you do, then you can work with these materials to recreate the look of Girl with Pearl Earring.
Take an iconic Instagram photo by standing against a black background and holding a large photo frame around yourself. Use a photo filter to help your outfit best match the faded colors in the painting. You’re sure to have a winning costume photo!
Oh, and don’t forget your pearl earring! You can grab yourself a silver pearl stud earring that not only will serve looks in your costume but will also be a cute accessory year round.
Bubble, Bubble, Last Minute Trouble
You can’t go wrong with a witch costume. Go all out with the long, black nails and dramatic makeup. Add a pointed black hat and flowy black dress for a simple and easily-assembled costume.
Easy 1950s Throwback
Stay at home and watch the movie Grease while dressed in a 1950s-style costume! Go for a classic gal’s look with bold red lips and a voluminous hairdo. Add another pop of red with a headband or these red hoop earrings.
For more of a greaser or Sandy Olsen look, grab your favorite black crop top and leather jacket. Leather pants would be a great addition if you have those in your closet, too! Rock your favorite red heels and you’ll be ready to rock.
Well, almost ready to rock. Don’t forget to don hoop earrings to get the full look.
1920s Flapper Girl
Sticking with the decade theme, flapper girl costumes are simple and pretty easy to put together. Some flapper girl essentials include a cigarette holder, gloves, short hair (consider getting a wig), a sparkly or feather headpiece, a feather boa, and a flowy, flashy, sparkling dress!
You can pick up a whole flapper costume at your local party store, but if you’re in a crunch, then assembling any of the pieces from above can help you achieve that look. Make sure you match the flashy look with flapper-style silver fringe dangle earrings.
Be a Halloween Cat!
It’s easy, it’s classic, and it’s oh-so-cute. If you have a cat-ear headband and fake tail, then you’re halfway there! If not, then don’t fret. You can easily fashion some cute cat ears with black and pink construction paper. Cut them into triangles and attach them to a black headband.
Adorn yourself with a choker to mimic a cat collar, and dress in your favorite black clothes. Top it off with some fake nails for claws!
Use eyeliner to draw on a cat nose and whiskers, or even step up your game and get a black facemask and paint a kitty nose on it.
Stay Stylish and Stay Safe
Halloween 2020 is a little different than Halloweens past, but that doesn’t mean you can’t still get dressed up for your next video chat or socially-distanced trick-or-treat adventure!
